Another "new year; new me" month is now over. January was not all that bad, there were definitely both the ups and the downs but overall it has been a pretty solid month. I decided that many people focus on the negative, yet, we all have so many little things that make us happy throughout the day. I decided that I wanted to share some of my personal favourite things from this month.

PODCASTS
Recently, I've found myself constantly listening to various podcasts. They're one of those things that I've started listening on the way to school, while doing mindless tasks around the house, and even while editing photos. These are some of my personal favourite podcasts that I've been listening to on a regular basis.
Creative Hustle
During the month of January, I got the extraordinary opportunity to be on a podcast hosted by a friend of mind. He runs a brand with a close friend of his and has this podcast that looks at different stories from friends and family. Covering so many different topics, there's always something to listen to. These guys are amazing. Although I've only got the chance to meet one of them, the stories and advice they've got to give and share is truly inspiring. This podcast is perfect for on the go, or when you're looking for something to listen to while you're doing something else. The conversation is friendly, and relatable. It makes it as though you're really sitting right there with them. Click on the photo to go listen to the podcast. (psst...my episode is episode 2.6...lemme know if you listen to it)
The Happy Times
The Happy Times podcast was one of the first podcasts I've ever listened. Hosted by Ottawa's own, Joey Kidney, it's the perfect podcast that you need when you're feeling different emotions. Joey sits down and talks for 20-40 minutes about a variety of different topics. Telling his perspective and life stories on a variety of different topics such as: anxiety, depression, and falling in/ out of love. This podcast has been something that's helped me through some of my own struggles, and is a great podcast when you're looking for something to listen to mindlessly. Pretty Basic
Pretty Basic is a new podcast hosted by LA Youtuber's Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz. This podcast is probably one of the funniest podcasts I've heard. The stories the girls tell, and the various pieces of advice they have to give make for a SUPER entertaining podcast. On the longer side, time wise, it's a great podcast to listen to if you have a long work commute. The two girls sit down and give the audience the inside scoop of being a Youtuber. They talk about behind the scenes that their combined 28 million followers don't see on their different platforms. Click on the photo to listen to their episodes.
COFFEE SHOPS IN OTTAWA
But first, coffee. Yes, coffee is my ALL TIME favourite beverage. Ottawa recently has improved their coffee shop game significantly. Ottawa has recently gotten so many new coffee shops that have CHANGED THE COFFEE GAME! I'm serious, like coffee shops have been absolutely the place I go to edit photos, to get homework done etc. etc. So, with all that being said, here are my top 3 favourite coffee shops in Ottawa.
Equator Coffee
Equator coffee is probably one of the most social coffee shops in Ottawa. I'm ALWAYS in the NAC location. The people that work there are probably some of the nicest barista's I've ever met. They're always willing to start a conversation with you no matter what kind of day it is. The coffee shop is super social, always something going on, and their coffee is absolutely to DIE for. Super good, wide variety of different options, and the food options are also amazing! (fun fact: the Almonte location has breakfast now!) So, totally go check them out! The link is with the photo, so click on the photo to go learn more about Equator.
Red Door Provisions
A small cafe located on Beechwood, this coffee shop has amazing coffee, and amazing food. It's super close to home for me, so it's SO easy to get to. The people there are super friendly and the variety of both beverages and foods that they have is unreal. All the food is made right there and then. The outdoor patio is so fun and the inside is adorable. It's such a great place to catch up with friends, meet new people for coffee or go out for lunch with family. A great place for everyone! Go check it out!!
The Ministry of Coffee
Oh my gosh! Okay, just before I start, they just opened a location up the street from my house and I'm so unbelievably excited to be able to spend more time here. The coffee is SO GOOD, and the different sandwiches are to die for. The Ministry of Coffee has a great, warm, and comfortable environment. I love going there to do work, it's often really quiet which is really nice after having been in class, which is pretty loud. It's super welcoming and a great place to get work done with friends, or meet up with people for lunch. Totally worth checking out!
So, that's how January went, many hours spent at all of these different coffee shops, listening to all the different podcasts. I wanted to know from you, what your January favourite's have been. I've been working a lot on a HUGE new personal artistic project with a friend of mine. I'll be launching the details of that project later on in the month so stay tuned. Thanks again for reading!
