Just an update on what's been happening; where I've been and what's to come...

Hi. My name is Kesha.
Yeah, you probably already know who I am considering the fact that my name is plastered to the top of your screen, the majority of you are probably friends of mine and so on and so forth. BUT! For those of you who I don't know, hi.
So, now, the question is, why am I writing a blog post after almost an entire year, and after I've basically ignored the existence of this website? Well, truth be told, I have recently been going through some MAJOR life changes, AND I've had a lack of inspiration for what I wanted to be uploading. Since we last chatted, I went to New York City (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PpvNEPh7jk) and edited a video about it. I also moved out and am living in Toronto now, and started college. But, let's start with one thing at a time...
For those of you who might not know, I recently made a huge move, and moved my life to Toronto, Ontario for school. So now, instead of living in Ottawa and studying there; I'm studying at George Brown College for their two year social service worker program.
I miss Ottawa. Just before leaving, I felt as though I had just started making the connections (creatively) that I needed in the city to allow me to work in photography and build some good relationships with the people I was working with. At the beginning of the year, I started working for Erin Elizabeth (http://byerinelizabeth.co/about/), who is a lifestyle blogger in Ottawa. I also started taking photos for Noah Merriby (https://linktr.ee/noahmerriby), a business student at Ottawa U who is working on his own business adventures and has recently started releasing parts of his upcoming book. So Erin and Noah, I miss you both and I'm super excited to catch up with both of you soon!
As far as Toronto goes, it's been a big adjustment to my life. I've met some pretty amazing people here, found a job (which I'll get to in a sec) and have found some pretty amazing spots to drink coffee (which we all know is a necessity in my life). Toronto is an overwhelmingly busy city compared to Ottawa. Everyone here is in a rush and everyone is constantly a part of the crazy hustle culture. The other thing I've noticed is that adulting is HARD...That's another topic we'll get into later.
Okay let's talk about job. In CLASSIC me manner, I managed to get myself a job at a coffee shop (is this a surprise to anyone). I'm currently working at Fahrenheit Coffee (http://www.fahrenheitcoffee.com/). Now, let me tell you, that apart from me not being a morning person AT ALL, working at this coffee shop has been amazing. The staff are great and I've learned so much. Fahrenheit is a specialty coffee shop with three locations across Toronto. Each store has a super friendly team of baristas who make probably the best coffee that I've had in Toronto (not that I have a biased opinion or anything...) Although I've been working a lot, the hours are starting to pay off. It has also been a really good way for me to be able to manage my time, and force myself to juggle everything at once. Sooooo, if you're ever in Toronto and are in need of some serious caffeine, come on by and grab a coffee!

As far as photography goes, to be totally honest with you, I've only been out twice in the three months that I've been in Toronto. Now trust me, it all seems crazy to me too. But, between work, school and just adjusting to everything, I haven't had the time to shoot as much as I'd like to. But, I still have lots of time to do that. I'm planning on using my winter break to explore the city and take photos of people during Christmas time.
I've recently had quite a bit of inspiration from some friends of mine for photos that I can take. I'm going to get to toy around with taking photos of coffee pretty soon which I'm over the moon excited about. On top of that, I'm planning some pretty big shoots with some people across the city. However, this does not stop me from wanting to work with new people. My goal for the new year is to try and work with a bunch of new people in the city, and manage everything else. Which yes, looks like a lot but I'm hoping that it'll all work. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you're ever interested in working together, feel free to shoot me a message. The best way to reach me is probably Instagram (@kmcinnes_photography). I try to respond as quick as possible, but if I don't, feel free to keep sending me messages.
So, I guess that's it...That's my update. I am hoping that I can start spending a little more time on this blog, and really start to build my creative interests back up again. Bare with me, and I hope to hear from some of you soon!
-K
